CHARLES E.F. MILLARD JOINS BROADWAY REAL ESTATE PARTNERS, LLC
NEW YORK, NY, JULY 30, 2004--Scott Lawlor, chief executive officer of Broadway Real Estate Partners, LLC (Broadway Partners), has announced the appointment of Charles E.F. Millard as President of BP Direct Securities, LLC (pending NASD, SIPC approval) (BP Securities), a subsidiary of Broadway Partners. Mr. Millard joins Broadway Partners after  erving as Managing Director and Head of Wealth Management Services at Lehman Brothers, and was formerly President of the New York City Economic Development Corporation in Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s administration.

Mr. Millard will be responsible for the creation and direction of BP Securities, a brokerdealer which will syndicate both equity and debt in Broadway Partners real estate investments to private individuals, families and institutions. In this role, Mr. Millard will also be a Managing Director of Broadway Real Estate Partners. LLC. He will work in conjunction with Linda Lewis, Executive Vice President, and will report directly to Scott Lawlor.

At Lehman Brothers, Millard was responsible for coordinating firm-wide services for ultrawealthy individuals and families, bringing approximately $2 billion in assets to the firm. As a Cabinet official in the administration of Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, he was President of the New York City Economic Development Corp. and Chairman of the New York City Industrial Development Agency where he directed the conclusion of the major leases in the redevelopment of 42nd Street, negotiated the City’s participation in the construction of theReuters, Bear Stearns and Conde Nast buildings, and sold the United Nations Hotel. He directed all tax incentive negotiations with large corporations and oversaw the issuance of billions of dollars in bonds for private companies. He functioned as the landlord for over 10 million feet of occupied real estate and increased funds from operations 50% in two years.

Mr. Millard was twice elected to the New York City Council from the East Side of Manhattan and has also served as an associate attorney with Davis Polk and Wardwell and as a Managing Director with Prudential Securities and with Cambridge Partners. He has published numerous Op-Ed articles, lectured at Fordham and Columbia Universities, appeared as a regular commentator on Fox News Channel’s Cavuto on Business, and serves on the Boards of the New York League of Conservation Voters, St. Aloysius School, the Pregnancy Care Center and Gary Klinsky Children’s Centers. He was recently honored by Irish America magazine as one of 50 leading Irish-Americans on Wall Street. He has a J.D. with Honors from Columbia Law School and a B.A. Honors degree, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Holy Cross College.
